Practical Support
Connection Toolkits are designed to make complex needs easier to understand and practical support easier to use. They are grounded in the Behaviour Connections ethos: looking beyond behaviour, understanding what may be driving it, and responding through connection rather than correction.
Clear explanations and practical ideas that can support understanding, communication and everyday situations at home and beyond.
Accessible resources that can support shared understanding, consistent responses and connection-led practice around a young person.
The Connections Framework™
Each toolkit sits within the same framework used across Behaviour Connections.
A practical Connection Toolkit focused on understanding demand avoidance and supporting young people through a connection-led, low-demand approach.
Understanding demand avoidance through connection.
Demand avoidance can be easily misunderstood when we focus only on what a young person is or is not doing. The PDA Toolkit is designed to support a more curious, connection-led response.
It brings together practical guidance around demand avoidance so adults can think about what may be happening, reduce unnecessary pressure and consider approaches that support regulation, trust and engagement.
Coming Next
We are developing further practical resources using the same connection-led approach. New toolkits will be added here as they are completed.
